Post by: vorkriegsmercedes on May 11, 2008, 02:06:10 AM >>>Hello DesHay, the Mercedes-Benz 500K Autobahn-Kurier on the photo has the chasssis number 130898 and was delivered to Iran and not to Hitler when it was new.
There are some contradictionary Daimler-Benz documents suggesting that it had a 5,4 litre engine. The Mercedes-Benz 770 Offener Tourenwagen has the chassis number 150006/0009 , I have seen this car also on the Mercedes-Benz gathering in Ladenburg Germany.

By the way, Hitler used many Mercedes-Benz cars but the owner of the car was the Adjütantür des Fürhrers in Berlin, wich was also the orderer of the cars.

Something that may not be well known is Hitler was behind the government funding of Mercedes Benz and Auto Union from 1933 onwards. The German government funding around 1/4 of the costs of their racing teams. Hitler being a very wealthy man with the sales of his books, photos and prints could have afforded any number of personal cars he wanted. As head of state he would have also been afforded any number of cars.
