Sie fahren einen 170er, einen Ponton oder eine Heckflosse? Der nächste Frühling steht vor der Tür und Sie haben noch immer nicht das günstige Cabrio Ihrer Wahl gefunden? Die Familie soll auch am Cabriogenuß teilhaben?
Dann ist die Firma BCA - Bass Classic Automobiles GmbH genau die richtige Firma, die Ihnen helfen kann. Das Nachrüsten eines Faltschiebedachs in originaler Optik und Haptik ist das Spezialgebiet des Hemminger Unternehmens. Die angebotenen Dächer basieren auf den später bei Daimler-Benz angebotenen Webasto Dächern, die etwas kleiner zum tragen kommen. Man nutzte damals beim originalen Werkseinbau einen Stahlrahmen, sehr heikel und rostanfällig. Die damalige Webasto-Lösung baut auf einen einen Holzrahmen so wie die heutige Variante. Das Dach welches für den 170er angeboten wird ist das längste welches Webasto machen möchte. Heutige Gesetze und und auch die Kundschaft sind viel strenger, deshalb wird auch selbstverständlich eine 2 jährige Garantie angeboten. Der Preis für die komplette Dachöffnung inklusive Montage (ca. 3 Arbeitstage) und Anpassung liegt bei 2.880,-€. Die Teile werden bei Bestellung für das entsprechnede Fahrzeug vorgefertigt. Wer also in diesem Sommer den eigenen Wagen offen genießen möchte meldet sich noch heute bei BCA - Bass Classic Automobiles GmbH mit dem Hinweis, dass er über die MVC Aktuell Seite die Nachricht über ihr Produkt erhalten hat. Hier noch einige Fragen die mir spontan zu diesem Produkt eingefallen sind und die genauso spontan beantwortet wurden:
Für welche Mercedes-Typen (170 V, 170 S, 3-0-0 a b c d, 220 W 187, Ponton, Flosse, 108/109, 114/115) bieten Sie den Umbau an? >Mit dem TÜV gibt es folgende Veverreinbarung: Wir / Kunden bekommen TÜV für alle Dächer auf jene Autotypen welches es auch auch mit Faltdächer gab. Also alles was nachgerüstet wurde, alle Autotypen, ob VW, MG, Jaguar, Alfa, Audi, Ford, Opel, Mercedes, BMW, Volvo etc... wenn sie "anno-dazumal" mit Faltdach angeboten wurden, dann gibts auch heute den TÜV-Stempel. Schwierig wirt's wenn es die Autotype mit Faltdach nicht gab, wie z.Bsp. 220SEb Coupé W111 oder Porsche 911 etc... da wäre es zwar schön... aber es gab das nicht. Also bei uns auch nicht.<
Gibt es ein Set für den Selbsteinbau? >Selbsteinbau, unmöglich, nein machen wir nicht, ebenso keine Ersatzteile für Altdächer. Dafür 2 Jahre Garantie, Wagenaufwertung und jede Menge Spaß!<
Ist eine Montage vor oder nach der Lackierung ratsamer? >Unbedingt nach dem Lackieren. Denn wir beschädigen das sichbare Dach nicht. Es sind viele Schichten bis zum Blech und auch das Blech wird gesondert nochmals behandelt, dort wo es geschnitten wird. Es kostet ein hohe Überwindung, in ein schönes Dach einzuschneiden, aber wir sind der Meinung, dass das Resultat sich sehen lassen kann.<

I am thinking of replacing the material in my webasto sunroof at some point in the near future.   Thinking I should buy the material, BEFORE it becomes obsolete.   I would have to have someone do the work.... anyone know if the original material would be the best, or should I just go with replacements that may be available at the time through the vendor?

A 78 003 was the roof part for the sliding roof ... but there are no parts for that available anymore !

Is this the cloth substitute for the original webasto roof canvas? Is Dachbeplankung f. Schiebedach A 78 003  the mechanism?

Covertex is the correct material, although the British Everflex is a good substitute. I used Everflex on a job because a better color was available in that material to match the color of the car. The Everflex has a slight "leather" look grain to it.

I'm not sure why they are quoting in square meters since upholstery material is usually sold by the linear measurement, although this material may be one meter wide  anyway.

I doubt that this material would become obsolete. It may also be used on VW convertibles as well as other cars.
