White face vs black gauges

Here are two images I recently acquired.  The First is labeled 1949 170S ( a Cab B)

and the second is the dash of a 1949 170S Cab A.

the second picture with the dashboard is strange ,because of the white instruments and missing chrome parts and a strange handglove compartment the dash of the 170s cab a has leather it has also position lights on the fenders

it looks if it is a prototype and the modified the dash from the prewar 230 cab A

I thought that the early post war cars had white faced gauges.

I don't know wen the chance the color of the gauges.
I own a 1948 170v  ,the oilpresser and speedometer are white and the clock is already black it is original ,also it is mentoned  in the factory birth documents (wagenkarte) oft he car

 ... until 1952 you could order for the v-type the special item "white instruments" (and a white steering wheel) optional. This option was not official pricelisted, but mercedes allowed this in the internal selling-papers. I think, they had pre-war parts in stock.
